I really think all your suit designs are more practical than the Nintendo officials, namely because the Zero Suit isn't ridiculously skintight and your Power Suit/Varia designs aren't all bulky and disproportional. Then again, part of what makes Metroid so amazing is all the fantasy of it. Nonetheless, good work!
While first seeing this I thought "wtf?" then I checked the gallery you linked. I saw a picture I once found on google. I really have to stop getting influenced on this level while I am working >>. The explenation is simple, when I get stuck I usually just google stuff that looks cool and try to get ideas that will "fix" the problem. Obviously getting influenced far too much. I have basically overlooked it since the biggest part of the insperation for this was the orignal prime sketches of the powersuits inside.
But yeah, I see it and I will put it there. However I worked pretty hard on this, since I am not that good of a friend with human anatomy and such. and I want this to be my concept and mine alone, wich was the intention. So I will have to change it. Thanks for pointing it out.
Wow.. I really like the exoskeleton design for Samus'sZero suit ad it makes a lot more sense too. Instead of just being a hot body underneath, her exoskeleton suit seems to add a lot more functionality and cohesion with her main power suit: the entire product seems organic. If there's any critique, her head looks a nigh small relative to the proportions of her body-- particularly torso.
Well thinking about this the zero suit has been mainly made to create a new fan base as samus was originally an "assexuate" female character who does'nt need any kind of female assets to exist. Contradiction and illogism are the fan service's best friends after all... :s
Absolutely love this. Much more practical and plausible, as well as badass. The details are amazing.
Samus shouldn't look like some swimsuit model in bright blue spandex. If you want some shameless T&A, go play Dead or Alive or something. She's an experienced bounty hunter and warrior, which you've so awesomely demonstrated here.
I really hate how Metroid: Other M represented Samus. They turned her into a weak, whiny, submissive, self-doubting anime sterotype, with the emotional maturity of a teenager. That's not who she is, and Other M is trying to present this image as absolute to newcomers to the series. And the heels on her Zero Suit = absolute travesty.
I loved how she looked in Metroid Prime. In Prime, she looked like someone who could actually be capable of killing aliens and doesn't afraid of anything. In Other M, she doesn't even look strong enough to lift her own damn arm cannon.
